Production log 9
This week we filmed the most important part of the opening scene which was the main character getting chased my two drug dealers out of a ally-way. We choose this location because most robbery's are done in alleyways as there are not a lot of people which go through them so there are no witnesses when committing a crime. With the drug dealers we wanted them to look richer as it seems they are gaining a lot of money from drugs , they are wearing big brands such as super dry and Ralph Lauren which are expensive brands. Our actors worked very well with us as we where friends and they knew how important this work was to us so they cooperate with us very well.
This week me and my partner didn't have a lot of problems as we both planned what we was going to do for maximum efficiency. The biggest problem was with the audio as we did not know how to lower the volume of the audio when the main character is speaking , we gained help from our teacher who soon resolved the problem for us. We still had problems with the pacing of the opening scene as some shots where very long and other shots where short which messed up the pacing of the opening the scene this could of been resolved if we cut the shots but as we didn't have much clips to use it was very hard to balance out the pace. We also finally added the credits onto the opening scene which wasn't very difficult as i had experience with computers and it was very easy to pick up the skills needed to add in the credits. We also adjusted some clips as my peers gave us feedback about the opening scene. They said we needed to add audio and credits in which we done , they also said they could hear the director so we cut out all of the sound and re added the song we wanted so we couldn't hear the director. Also people said that the main character looked at the camera too much but we couldn't redo this shots as my partners house was getting done up and it wouldn't look the same as the other shots. They also said that the camera was shaking too much and the rule of thirds wasn't applied we wasn't able to re-shoot the stuff we already filmed but we was able to implement the feedback into the other shots we done, as they didn't involve my partners house.
